I have diverse chemical engineering experience spanning the design and evaluation of pressure relief and effluent systems, PSM programs implementation, process simulations, defect resolutions, risk assessment, managing small and large projects, providing 24/7 on-site support to operation and maintenance, and engineering QA/QC. In my tenure I have had the opportunity to walk on all sides of the business from consulting design engineer sitting in an office to consulting support engineer working side by side with the client in the field to the operator engineer and client. So how did I get here and where am I from?
My life is a patchwork of experiences that helped shape and enable my career as an entrepreneur and leader. I was born in Carrizo Springs, a small southwest Texas town, where my family lived until my father joined the state department when I was in 4th grade. His job took us all over the world: Amman, Jordan; Guatemala City, Guatemala; San Jose, Costa Rica… along the way, we spent time in Israel, Syria, Egypt, Cyprus, Spain, France, Germany, Honduras, El Salvador, and Panama.
I am a homegrown mechanical engineer, born-and-raised in Houston, Texas. I grew up as the youngest of ten siblings. My father was in chemical sales, but ventured into various entrepreneurial efforts throughout his career. I graduated from Stratford High School before attending Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. I graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1993 and went to work for Brown & Root as a project engineer.
